First Year in Business a Success!

Its been a while since I have posted, about 6 weeks. Things really got busy at the end of the wedding season. I shot my last wedding on November 15th (Lyndsay and Garrett) and I am now finished with weddings until May 2009. I do have a few engagement sessions between now and then however.

For those that don't know, this was my first year in Business as Sonya Byer Photography and I am thrilled to say that things went above and beyond what I expected them to! I started out booking weddings in February of this year at $300. Things went so well that mid year I raised my prices to $500 a wedding. This year I had the privilege of working with some amazing professional photographers (Katie, Bruce, Trisha) and each one taught me something new and helped me learn where I had faults. Id personally like to thank them for their willingness to help out a 'newbie to the photography business world' I have learned so much from professionals like them, research on my own and with all the experience that I gained this first year, that I am able to raise my prices to $800 a wedding for 2009 bookings! This is good for me as a business owner, but also for my brides because I am also revising the 'wedding package' and adding in many new things!

Id also like to say thank you to all my Brides and Couples from 2008 for trusting me with your wedding memories, and making my first year in business what it is now! Rachel, John and Mary, Eldon & Brenda, Riley & Ferris, Hermon & Belinda, Anthony & Patrice, David & Jill, and Garrett & Lyndsay... THANK YOU ALL!! And to my upcoming 2009 brides, Thank you as well!! I am excited to work with each and every one of you!!

I have many new things in store for Sonya Byer Photography in the upcoming months including a whole new look, a brand new website, and a new price list! So keep an eye out for those!!
